rhythˈmometer [f. Gr. ῥυθµός rhythmus: see -meter.] A kind of metronome.
1812Gentl. Mag. LXXXII. ii. 588 An instrument in the form of a small clock..for the purpose of marking the time to musical movements... It may perhaps most properly be called a Rhythmometer. 1886Hall & Jastrow in Mind XI. 57 The simple apparatus for producing the clicks which we call a rhythmometer. |
