autochrome, a. and n. Photogr. (Disused.)|ˈɔːtəʊkrəʊm| [f. Gr. αὐτο- (see auto-1) + χρῶµα colour.] A. adj. Defining a process and a plate used in colour-photography, invented by Messrs. Lumière of Lyons; also, a slide produced by this process.
