azeotrope Chem.|əˈziːətrəʊp| [f. Gr. ἀ- priv. (a- 14) + zeo- combining form f. Gr. ζεῖν to boil + -trope (cf. Gr. τρόπος turning).] A mixture of liquids the boiling-point of which does not change on distillation. So azeoˈtropic a.; azeˈotropism, azeˈotropy, the stage of being an azeotrope.
