azine Chem.|ˈæzɪn, -aɪn, -iːn, eɪ-| Also azin. [f. azo- + -ine5.] a. An organic compound containing the group {b2}N{b1} N{b2}. b. One of a group of heterocyclic organic compounds with two, three, four, etc., nitrogen atoms in a six-atom ring (thus diazine, triazine, tetrazine, etc.), used esp. as dyes.
