azygos, azygous, a. (and n.) Phys.|ˈæzɪgəs| [(a. or) f. Gr. ἄζυγος unyoked, not a pair, f. ἀ priv. + ζυγόν yoke: see -ous. Cf. mod.F. azygos.] A. adj. Fellowless, unpaired: a technical epithet of organic parts not existing in pairs. B. n. An organic part of this description.
