Baker day, n. U.K. colloq.|ˈbeɪkə ˌdeɪ| [f. the name of Kenneth Wilfred Baker (b. 1934), British Education Secretary (1986–89), who introduced the scheme + day n.] Any of several days in the state school year set aside for INSET training (see *INSET n.2); an INSET day.
