Barbaresque, a. and n.|bɑːbəˈrɛsk| [modern a. F. barbaresque (= It. barbaresco) belonging to Barbary; cf. also Pg. barbarisco barbarous. See barbar and -esque, and cf. Barbary.] A. adj. 1. Of or pertaining to Barbary in Africa.
