barkevikite, n. Min.|ˈbɑːkəvɪkaɪt| Also † barkevicite. [ad. Sw. barkevikit (coined by W. C. Brögger 1887, in Geol. Fören. Förhandl. (Stockholm) IX. 269), f. the name of Barkevik in Norway, where typical specimens were found: see -ite1.] An iron-rich sodium and potassium amphibole occurring as dark brown or black monoclinic crystals.
