† roˈsacic, a. Chem. Obs. [Cf. prec. and -ic.] rosacic acid, the name given by Proust to a supposed acid forming a constituent of lateritious urinary sediment.

II. 415 According to Proust,..this sediment contains, mixed with uric acid and phosphate of lime, a peculiar acid, which he terms the rosacic, from its resemblance in colour to the rose. 1841Penny Cycl.
