roscoelite Min.|ˈrɒskəʊlaɪt| [f. the name of Sir Henry Roscoe (1833–1915), English chemist + -ite1.] A vanadium ore that is a basic silicate of potassium, vanadium, and aluminium belonging to the mica family and occurring as minute green or brown scales.

CXII. 31 The mineral, to which I have given the name of Roscoelite,—in honor of Professor Roscoe, of Manchester, who has done so much for the chemical history of vanadium,—is a well marked species of mica, containing quite a large percentage of vanadium. 1943R.
