Rosh Chodesh, Rosh Hodesh (‖ roʃ ˈxodeʃ, rəʊʃ ˈxəʊdəʃ) [Heb., lit. ‘head of the month’.] A Jewish half-holiday observed at the appearance of the New Moon, the beginning of the Jewish month.
