[mod. f. Gr. ψευδο- pseudo- + µορϕή form: cf. Gr. ψευδόµορϕ-ος disguising one's form. So in Ger.; F. pseudomorphe.]
A false or deceptive form; spec. in Min. a crystal or other body consisting of one mineral but having the form proper to another, in consequence of having been formed by substitution, or by chemical or physical alteration.
