U.S. mine official and mineralogist + -ite1.] A basic borate of calcium and manganese, usu. also containing magnesium and zinc, first found as light brown elongated orthorhombic crystals in zinc ore at Franklin, New Jersey; (Mn,Mg,Zn)2Ca2B4O7(OH)6.
