rubredoxin Biochem.|ruːbrɪˈdɒksɪn| [f. L. rub-er red + redox + -in1: cf. ferredoxin.] Any of a class of natural proteins having an iron atom co-ordinated to the sulphur atoms of four cysteine residues, and concerned in intracellular electron-transfer processes.
