Rubéniste, n. (‖ rybeniːst, ˈruːbənɪst) Also Rubeniste, Rubensiste, and anglicized Rubenist. [a. F. Rubéniste, f. the name of Rubens (see Rubens n.).] An admirer or imitator of Rubens, esp. one of a group of late 17th c. French artists who followed Rubens: see *Poussiniste n.
