‖ Pterygota, n. pl. Entom.|ptɛrɪˈgəʊtə| [mod.L., f. Gr. πτερυγωτός winged.] A primary division of Insects, containing all the winged kinds. Hence ˈpterygote a., furnished with wings, winged; belonging to the Pterygota.
