‖ ben trovato, adj. phr.|bɛn troˈvato| [It., = well found.] Of a story, etc.: appropriate; happily invented if untrue. Se non è vero, è molto ben trovato ‘if it is not true, it is a happy invention’ was app. a common saying in the 16th cent. It is found, for example, in Giordano Bruno (1585).
