saccharometer|sækəˈrɒmɪtə(r)| [f. Gr. σάκχαρο-ν sugar + -meter. Cf. saccharimeter.] 1. A form of hydrometer for estimating the amount of sugar in a solution by specific gravity; used esp. in brewing to ascertain the amount of saccharine or fermentable matter in wort.
