blastophthoria Path.|blæstəʊfˈθɔːrɪə| [mod.L., f. blasto- + Gr. ϕθορά destruction (ϕθείρειν to destroy): see -ia.] The hypothetical degeneration of germ cells caused by chronic poisoning as from alcoholism or other diseases. Hence blastophˈthoric a., of or relating to blastophthoria.
