Bramley|ˈbræmlɪ| [f. the name of Matthew Bramley, an English butcher, in whose garden at Southwell, Notts., this apple is said to have been first grown c. 1850 (see 1931 N. & Q. 14 Nov. 351/2).] A type of cooking apple; in full Bramley('s) seedling.
