schematic, a. and n.|skiːˈmætɪk| [ad. mod.L. schēmaticus, f. schēmat- schema, scheme n.1 Late Gr. had σχηµατικός in the sense ‘false, pretended’, from σχῆµα in the sense ‘appearance’ (see scheme n. 8 c).
