‖ scherzando, adv. Mus.|skerˈtsando| [It., gerund of scherzare to sport, play, f. scherzo: see scherzo] Playfully, sportively; used to indicate that a movement or passage is to be rendered in a lively manner. Also attrib. (quasi-adj.), and ellipt. as n., a ‘scherzando’ movement. So (rarely) scherzanˈdissimo (It. superlative).
