breatharian, n. and a. Brit. |ˌbrɛθˈɛːrɪən|, |ˌbriːˈðɛːrɪən|, U.S. |ˌbrɛθˈɛriən|, |ˌbriˈðɛriən| Forms: also with capital initial. [Apparently ‹breath n. + -arian suffix, after vegetarian n., fruitarian n., etc. Also apprehended as ‹breathe v.] A. n. A person who consumes or claims to require no nutrients other than those absorbed from the air and, in some cases, sunlight; an advocate or practitioner of breatharianism.
