A hydrated carbonate, sulphate, and fluoride of uranyl, calcium, and sodium found as greenish-yellow scales, usu. as an alteration product of uraninite.
1875G. J. Brush Dana's Syst. Min. (ed. 5) App. ii. 50 Schröckeringite [sic]... Occurs at Joachimsthal on uraninite, in small, six-sided tabular crystals. 1921Bull. U.S. Geol. Survey No. 679. 131 A number of other specimens labeled ‘schroeckingerite’ were examined, but they proved to be uranothallite, or some other uranium mineral. 1967Mineral. Abstr. XVIII. 247/1 The uranium is located only in a small mineralization zone and is primarily in pitchblende form. Secondary uranium minerals are: schröckingerite, Ca-nováčekite, and meta-zeunerite. |
