† schœnanth Obs. Also (erron.) schæ-, scæ-. [ad. mod.L. schœnanthus, a. late Gr. σχοίνανθος (also σχοινάνθη, σχοινάνθιον), f. σχοῖν-ος rush + ἄνθος flower.] A sweet-scented grass of Asia, Andropogon Schœnanthus, formerly used in medicine; camel's-hay.
