‖ scolopendrium|skɒləʊˈpɛndrɪəm| Also 7–8 scolopendria. [mod.L., ad. L. scolopendrion = Gr. σκολοπένδριον a hart's-tongue fern, so called from a fancied resemblance to the scolopendra.] A genus of ferns; a fern of this genus; = hart's-tongue.
