scuppernong U.S.|ˈskʌpənɒŋ| [The name of a river in North Carolina.] a. A cultivated grape-vine belonging to the variety of the southern muscadine, Vitis rotundifolia, so called, originally found in the region of the Scuppernong River; also, the fruit of a vine of this kind. Also attrib.
