ˈsea-cat [Cf. F. chat de mer, ‘the smallest kind of dog-fish’ (Cotgr.).] 1. A name for various fishes. a. The wolf-fish, Anarrhichas lupus. b. The great weever, Trachinus draco. c. A shark, Scyllium catulus. d. Chimæra monstrosa. e. Any sea-catfish, as ælurichthys marinus.
