‖ cadi|ˈkɑːdɪ, ˈkeɪdɪ| Also 6–8 cady, 7 kadi, caddi, -ee, 7–8 cadee, 9 kady, (7 cadis, cade, 8 cadjee). [a. Arab. qāḑī judge, f. qaḑa(y to judge. (Whence, with al-, Sp. alcalde.)] A civil judge among the Turks, Arabs, Persians, etc.; usually the judge of a town or village.
