Dict. cites Wilder); hence pœciloˈnymic a., having a variety of names; pœciˈlonymy; ˈpœcilopod [Gr. πούς, ποδ- foot] Zool., a member of the Pœcilopoda, in Latreille's classification (now abandoned), a division of Crustacea distinguished by limbs of varied form and functions, e.g. prehensory, ambulatory, branchial, and natatory; hence pœciˈlopodous a.; pœciloˈthermal, pœciloˈthermic: see poikilo-.
