‖ cavetto Arch.|kaˈvɛtto| [It. cavetto, dim. of cavo, f. L. cav-us hollow: see cave.] ‘A hollowed moulding, whose profile is the quadrant of a circle. It is principally used in cornices’ (Gwilt Encycl. Archit.).
