sesquiplicate, a.|sɛsˈkwɪplɪkət| [ad. mod.L. sesquiplicātus, f. sesqui- + plicātus folded, plicate, to express the meaning ‘subduplicate of the triplicate’. (L. sesquiplex = taken once and a half.)] Bearing or involving the ratio of the square roots of the cubes of the terms of a certain ratio. Thus, a is to a′ in the sesquiduplicate ratio of b to b′, when a:a′::√b3:√b′3.
