L. cedr-us cedar, forming terms of chemistry, etc. ˈcedrene, a liquid hydrocarbon (C32H21) found in the resin of the cedar of Lebanon. † ˈcedria, a name applied sometimes to the oil of cedar, sometimes to the pitch or resin, but properly to the crude tears of the cedar. (Syd. Soc. Lex.) cedriret, a product obtained by Reichenbach from the tar of beechwood, said to crystallize in fine needles. ˈcedrium = cedria.
