chalastic, a. (and n.) Med.|kəˈlæstɪk| [ad. mod.L. chalastic-us, a. Gr. χαλαστικός laxative, from χαλᾶν to relax. Cf. F. chalastique.] Having power to remove rigidity or stiffness; relaxing; laxative. Also n. a chalastic medicine.
