chartophylax Gr. Ch.|kɑːtəʊˈfaɪlæks| [Gr. χαρτοϕύλαξ, f. χάρτα paper + ϕύλαξ guard.] An officer of the household of the Patriarch of Constantinople who has charge of the official documents and records.
