In full chicle-gum: a gum-like substance obtained from the bully tree (Mimusops globosa), and from the sapodilla (Sapota zapotilla), largely used in the United States in the manufacture of chewing-gum; hence, chewing-gum. Hence ˈchicle v. intr., to chew gum.
