shih-tzu|ˈʃiːtsuː| Also shitzu. [ad. Chin. shīzigǒu f. shī lion + zǐ son + gǒu dog, formerly transliterated shih-tzu kou.] A small long-coated dog of the breed so called, originally developed in China, often tan or grey and white in colour, with long ears and a tail curling over the back.
