‖ chodchod A Hebrew word kadkōd ‘a sparkling gem, prob. ruby’, left untranslated by the LXX. as χορχόρ, and by Jerome as chodchod, which was retained by Wyclif and the Douay version. Coverdale has ‘Christall’; 1611 ‘agate’.
