choleretic, a. and n. Chem.|kɒləˈrɛtɪk| [ad. G. cholereticum (Brugsch & Horsters 1923, in Klin. Wochenschr. 13 Aug. 1558/1), f. mod.L. choleresis, secretion of bile by the liver; after diuretic.] Stimulating the secretion of bile by the liver. Hence as n., a drug that has this effect.
