1. The vessel containing the chrism or consecrated oil; in R.C. Ch., a case containing three flasks of oil for baptism, confirmation, and anointing of the sick.

II. 337 Item oone Crismytery of silver. 1554in Fuller Waltham Abb. (1840) 273 ‘Item, For a chrismatory of pewter, three shillings four pence.’ This was a vessel in which the consecrated oil, used in baptism, confirmation, and extreme unction, was deposited. 1566Eng.
