Shore, n.5 Metallurgy.|ʃɔə(r)| The name of Albert F. Shore (fl. 1907), U.S. manufacturer, used attrib. with reference to the Scleroscope he invented and to a scale of relative hardness associated with the use of this instrument, as Shore hardness, Shore Scleroscope, Shore test, etc.
