chromocentre|ˈkrəʊməsɛntə(r)| [ad. It. cromocentro (P. Baccarini 1908, in Nuovo Giorn. Bot. Ital. XV. 189), f. chromo- 2 + centre.] A densely staining body formed in certain nuclei (see quot. 1949).
