cimetidine, n. Pharm.|saɪˈmɛtɪdiːn| [f. ci-, alteration of cyano-, + methyl n. + -idine.] An imidazole derivative, C10H16N6S , with histamine H2 -receptor blocking properties, given (usu. in tablet form as the hydrochloride) in the treatment of peptic ulcers.
