Sig., v.2 imp. Med.|sɪg| [Abbrev. of L. signā imp. sing., or signētur 3rd pers. sing. pres. subj. pass., of signāre to sign, mark, etc.] An instruction (‘label it..’ or ‘let it be labelled..’) used on medical prescriptions and indicating to the pharmacist the directions for taking the medicine which should be marked on its container.
