clean sheet, n. Brit. |ˌkliːn ˈʃiːt|, U.S. |ˈklin ˈʃit| [‹ clean adj. + sheet n.1] 1. A completely blank sheet of paper. Also: a sheet of writing, printer's proofs, etc., free from corrections and alterations. Cf. clean adj. 3c.
