cleithrum Zool.|ˈklaɪθrəm| Pl. cleithra. [mod.L. (C. Gegenbaur 1895, in Morphol. Jahrb. XXIII. 1), f. Gr. κλεῖθρον bar for closing a door.] A dermal bone in the pectoral arch of some fishes and amphibia.
