Clovis|ˈkləʊvɪs|
The name of a city in eastern New Mexico, U.S.A., applied attrib. to a prehistoric culture and its remains first found at the Blackwater Draw site near there, esp. to a type of projectile point (see quots.). Cf. Folsom.
