quinacrine Pharm.|ˈkwɪnəkriːn| [f. quinine + acridine.] A name for mepacrine (hydrochloride). Also attrib. and in Comb., esp. with reference to the use of quinacrine or quinacrine mustard to stain chromosomes. Formerly a proprietary term in the U.S.
