quinamine Chem.|ˈkwɪnəmaɪn| [f. quin-a + amine.] A natural crystallizable alkaloid found in the bark of Cinchona succirubra by Dr. Hesse in 1872. Also called quinaˈmina and quiˈnamia. Hence quiˈnamicine, quiˈnamidine, artificial isomeric alkaloids obtained from quinamine.
