coccosphere Biol.|ˈkɒkəʊsfɪə(r)| [f. Gr. κόκκο-ς grain, etc. + σϕαῖρα globe.] A spherical mass of associated coccoliths found in deep-sea dredging or floating at the surface of the ocean.
